From controller to operator
Architecturally, the system flows from the CNC controller through an application-logic layer to the operator's UI. The backend is organized into a communication layer for machine integration, data acquisition and file management, and an application-specific business-logic layer; together they turn complex machine data into intuitive visualizations so operators can monitor and control operations efficiently. The client's own intellectual property lives in a layer of retrofittable, machine-specific features — setup, production and quality-assist tools, a service interface and an AI chatbot assistant — and our software is what makes all of that usable at the machine.
Two software platforms
We develop two of the client's software platforms across two sub-projects: a quality-assurance add-on giving operators real-time workpiece-quality and machine-health information during and after processing, and a UI-modernization effort building a shared component library for a consistent interface across the client's product line, complete with custom dashboards and widgets. It is built in modern C++ (C++17) with Qt 5 and QML, tested with Google Test and Google Mock, integrated with a leading industrial CNC control framework, and running cross-platform on both Windows and Linux from a single codebase.
