Security, retrofitted safely
Retrofitting security onto production infrastructure is delicate work: the systems have to keep running while their communication is quietly made secure underneath them. We implemented TLS/HTTPS across existing systems, including a proof of concept for certificate management, so encrypted, authenticated communication became the default rather than the exception.
A pilot that solved a real constraint
A pilot within the engagement set up SSL certificates to work on any network, including local networks that don't have the usual public-facing prerequisites — a genuinely useful capability in industrial environments, where a lot of equipment lives on isolated or internal networks. It was completed successfully. The implementation uses Docker and Docker Compose with a reverse proxy and Let's Encrypt for certificate issuance and renewal.
